Why?

I'm an Army recruiter and I didn't want to be. I'd started a blog about this when I'd first came down on orders, but I lost interest. I'm now a few months into my USAwRECk tour and I stumbled across a couple of blogs ran by fellow recruiters. I figured I'd give it another shot.

I'm on my way out of USAREC so I hope you do keep it up. It's a tough job, not physically, but mentally and sometimes emotionally. Your family already hates it and you are counting the days until you return to the mainstream. In the meantime, keep your head up and keep your nose clean. Keep out of the grey and do the right thing. If you ever need someone to vent to, shoot me an email. I'll do what I can to help.

Thanks for noticing me Jack. This has, hands down, been the most difficult assignment I've ever had. It's frustrating and tiring to realize that no matter how hard I try, hard hard I work, all the places I go, people I see, things I say, my success is totally unattached to that ethic. I live or die by the words of some GED Bravo pushing carts in the hot sun. I'm an NCO with a little over 10 years of service, but I'm a failure because some 19 year old drop out would rather aspire to become a checker than become a Soldier in the best Army the world has ever seen.
